  • Description

Series Editors: Okla Elliott and Hannah Stephenson

The New Poetry from the Midwest anthology seeks to support and spotlight the flourishing crop of Midwestern writers who consistently produce work that is innovative, finely crafted, and strong in voice and the ability to connect. The series seeks to explode the generally accepted notions of what the Midwest is and what Midwestern writing is, while honoring its rich and long-standing histories. What counts as poetry of the Midwest? We feature poets who currently live in, pursued an education in, or were born in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, or Wisconsin, as well as poets writing about any of these states or the region as a whole.

Featuring work by Amit Majmudar, Claire Wahmanholm, Corey Van Landingham, Darren Demaree, David Winter, Deonte Osayande, Fatimah Asghar, George David Clark, Hanif Willis-Abdurraqib, Heidi Czerwiec, John McCarthy, Julian Randall, Julie Babcock, Kai Carlson-Wee, Katherine L. Holmes, Lara Georgieff, Maggie Smith, Mark Williams, Matt Mauch, Matthew Guenette, Rebecca Hazelton, Richard Newman, Rita Mae Reese, Roy Bentley, Sean Karns, Steve Tomasko, Susan Aizenberg, Ted Kooser, Timothy Walsh, and many more!
