Sara Fetherolf wins the 2021 New American Poetry Prize

We’re pleased to announce that Quan Barry has selected Via Combusta by Sara Fetherolf of Long Beach, CA, to receive the 2021 New American Poetry Prize!

Sara is a poet, essayist, storyteller, and librettist, whose work has appeared in Muzzle, Indiana Review, The California Journal of Poetics, and Plath Profiles, among others. Their debut work of short fiction, “The Place” was the 2021 Iron Horse Long Story award winner, and is forthcoming in spring 2022. She has an MFA degree from Hunter College, and is currently a PhD candidate in Literature and Creative Writing at University of Southern California, where she serves as poetry editor for Gold Line Press.
